Joem Antonio
One day, when he was a wee grade schooler, Joem's mom told him that theatre workshops were starting to cost a bit too much. Maybe he could just write plays? So, Joem learned how to write plays. More than a decade later, he was joining contests and winning awards.
The important thing is not that Joem won awards. The important thing is that he learned how to write.
Many people think that creative work requires talent that you're born with. Talent is a factor, sure. But if it's such a big factor, how could Joem have learned how to write great stories? He wasn't a great writer when he started. In fact, some his work reeked so much that he has them in a folder named "Hall of Shame." He learned how to write and, by George, he was going to help other people write too.
Joem came up with courses that got people from story idea to zero draft. Years later, he had enough courses to group them all under Storywriting School. He conducts these writing workshops in person when venues or organizations invite him. He also adapted these into asynchronous online courses, for which he also provides coaching.
